The Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center has always been dedicated to providing accurate and quality diagnoses and treatments, caring wholeheartedly for cancer patients. Respecting life, team-based medical care, health promotion, and talent cultivation are our mission. Our core value is to prioritize the well-being of our patients. In the 33 years since our establishment, we have not only provided the most advanced evidence-based medicine for cancer patients but also created a pleasant, diverse learning, creative, and goal-oriented working environment for our staff. To promote the health of employees, patients, their families, and the community, and to enhance the quality of health promotion services for achieving cancer and chronic disease prevention and treatment, our hospital established the "Health Promotion Quality Committee.”

Our hospital spares no effort in caring for its employees. Not only do we provide our staff with free access to high-quality gyms, but we also hold sports lectures and hire sports coaches for guidance. We also subsidize club funds, encouraging employees to participate in club activities such as sports fitness, choirs, crafts, scripture reading classes, cooking clubs, and craft workshops. Furthermore, our hospital's maternal protection measures have been recognized multiple times with the "Excellent Breastfeeding Room" certification; we also provide evaluations and care for maternal health hazards, producing educational materials titled "Reminders for Pregnant and Childbirth Employees" to remind colleagues of their rights and precautions.

KFSYSCC offers a range of benefits, including free nutritious lunches, group insurance subsidies for marriage and childbirth, hospitalization subsidies, holiday bonuses, emergency relief funds, departmental activity funds, travel subsidies, newly built dormitories to improve the resting environment of resident employees, as well as free annual health check-ups, with dedicated occupational health nurses tracking employees' health.

We've introduced a 12-hour shift system in our wards to enhance the continuity of patient care and minimize potential oversights during shift changes, ensuring greater flexibility in work, leave, and learning time arrangements. We also collaborate with nearby childcare centers to assist our staff with their toddlers. Moreover, the hospital offers free psychological counseling and positive stress-relief courses to promote staff's mental well-being, striving to create a mentally and physically healthy work team.

KFSYSCC advocates a culture of mutual trust, support, and the belief that admitting mistakes shouldn't lead to punishment. We believe that only non-overworked, mentally and physically healthy staff can wholeheartedly care for patients. Therefore, all patient complaints are addressed promptly by the hospital's top management. We bear the full responsibility for any medical disputes, relieving our medical staff from psychological stress and financial burdens. Our hospital views employees as our most significant assets. Besides caring for their physical health, we also ardently promote health-enhancing activities. In May, our hospital's director, in his eighties, participated in the hospital's hiking event, walking the Lengqing trail of Yangmingshan, enjoying the natural beauty of the Cold Water Pit and Qingtiangang, truly showcasing care and warmth towards the staff.
