Capturing Hope—Cancer Patients' Photography Exhibition
When cancer strikes, life turns into an unknown adventure. How should one face this unexpected guest?
To support the 820,000 families affected by cancer across Taiwan, the Cancer Hope Foundation and Roche Pharmaceuticals have been co-hosting the "Capturing Hope" digital photography contest since 2008. The aim is to use photography to bring warmth and strength to everyone affected by cancer.
This year's contest received 253 outstanding entries. After careful consideration by judges from photography, media, and advertising industries, 25 winning pieces were selected in three categories: cancer patients, friends and family, and healthcare teams. These photographs, each unique, tell deeply moving stories filled with courage and hope. They reveal the fragility and helplessness of life, as well as its resilience and brilliance.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, as well as to the organizers and judges for their dedication and hard work, which made this contest possible. We hope these remarkable works will bring hope and encouragement to many, becoming an indispensable part of their lives.
Over the past 16 years, the "Capturing Hope" photography exhibition has traveled to hospitals across Taiwan. In March 2024, the winning entries from the 9th "Capturing Hope" digital photography contest will be displayed in the B2 atrium of our hospital. We invite everyone to visit and find inspiration in the light of hope captured by the photographers.
