Paige Su: "You’ll Live Forever in My Songs”

Due to the pandemic, KFSYSCC’s lunchtime concerts had been on hiatus for a considerable time. They finally resumed earlier this year!

Last month, we hosted a listening and sharing session for Paige Su’s new album "You’ll Live Forever in My Songs". This event holds special significance for both the artist Paige Su and our hospital, marking a touching moment for all. Three years prior, Paige Su diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted treatments. Initially thinking her musical journey had come to an end, she was inspired to write and produce music again once her health stabilized. This period of her life became the essence of her album "You’ll Live Forever in My Songs". Gratefully, she chose to host one of the album's sessions at KFSYSCC as a tribute to the medical team's dedication.

From the perspective of the medical team, aiding patients back to health is an already fulfilling endeavor. Witnessing patients regain their health, returning to their normal lives, and thriving in their passion is an unparalleled joy.

Paige mentioned that while the treatment was challenging, it gave her a taste of a simple life she'd never experienced before. She's deeply thankful for the moments she can now savor, like enjoying a meal. "It's an emotion I've never felt before," she expressed. Through her music, she wishes to convey positivity to the public and fellow patients. She said, "Falling ill brought a wellspring of inspiration, while enduring pain has allowed me to feel even more deeply."

Paige hopes to share with breast cancer patients the importance of active treatment, finding the right medical team, defeating the illness and inner demons, and leading a better life. Her current primary physician is Dr. Chu-yun Chen from our Hematology and Oncology Department. After the sharing session, there was a touching moment where both Dr. Chen and Paige hugged and shed tears. Dr. Chen emphasized, "Cancer patients should first understand their own illness and the purpose of treatment. Attitude is crucial. Although treatment is tough, it's worth it. Every patient is truly remarkable!"
